The purpose of AWS is to simulate the workings of the United Nations, allowing students to learn about global issues, diplomacy and negotiation while improving their public speaking, critical thinking and leadership skills.
Delegates at AWS represent a country or delegation and engage in debate, negotiation and resolution writing, advocating for their country's (or delegation’s) policies and interests while seeking common ground with other countries and delegations.
Standard 11 and 12 (Senior Secondary School students) and Standard 9 and 10 (only Jamnabai Narsee School students) are eligible to participate in AWS.
The topics for the conference are selected by the organizing committee based on current global issues, trends, and events.
